DENVER -- Two pitchers considered fundamental building blocks for their respective teams will be on the mound Saturday night at Coors Field.Tyler Anderson will be seeking his first career win for the Colorado Rockies and will oppose Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Jerad EickhoffAnderson has pitched well in five career starts, posting a 3.03 ERA but he is 0-3 due to little run support. Colorado has scored a combined four runs when Anderson has been in games and has lost his last four starts.Anderson has done his part, allowing three runs or less in each start and two or less four times. He also has pitched at least six innings three times and made it past the fifth in each start.Eickhoff is one the centerpieces of last years deadline trade that sent Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers. Like Anderson he has a respectable ERA of 3.30 and a losing record at 6-9.Eickhoff has allowed two or fewer runs in six of his last seven starts, including Monday against Atlanta when he allowed two runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings. During his last seven starts, he is 4-2 with a 2.25 ERA (11 earned runs, 39 hits and 44 innings)The 26-year-old, is one of several promising young starters in the Phillies rotation. He follows Vince Velasquez, who gave up eight hits and two runs in six innings Friday night and was the winning pitcher in the Phillies 5-3 victory.Velasquez is 8-2 with a 3.32 ERA in 15 starts with 74 hits allowed in 78 2/3 innings, 26 walks and 93 strikeouts. He was on the disabled list June 10-27 with a biceps strain, time off that manager Pete Mackanin said gave Velasquez, 24, who is in his first full season in the majors, time to regroup mentally as well as let his arm heal.Hes going through a learning process, Mackanin said. Hes got the stuff to be very successful, obviously. Hes not really a polished pitcher, but hes got good enough stuff to have that good of numbers. It gives you an indication of how good he can be in the future.Young arms has been the theme of the series so far for both teams.Jon Gray preceded Anderson Friday and allowed three hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings. He was charged with two of the runs on pinch hitter Tommy Josephs three-run homer off Jake McGee.Gray is in his first full season in the majors and like Eickhoff and Anderson and Velasquez, he is gaining valuable experience while learning to ply his craft at the highest level and not being unsettled by his surroundings. For Gray, that means adapting to Coors Field, a challenging place to pitch.Ive come to like throwing here, Gray said. Just the way the plate looks, everything else looks, (how) the mound feels. I just have a comfortable feeling now. Im not sure how many starts, but Ive had a few. Im comfortable with it. Padres Jerseys 2019 . -- Quarterback Will Finch threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns, and Yannick Harou rushed in two scores as the No. Stitched Padres Jerseys . As the crowd erupted, Davis knocked the ball off the glass and back into his hands. With 1:14 to go in overtime, Davis sixth block also became his 17th rebound. That, along with his 32 points -- which tied a career high -- proved too much for Denver to overcome, and the Pelicans held on for their third straight victory, 111-107 on Sunday night. https://www.cheappadresjerseys.us/ .500 on the season. The Jets are now 0-5-1 in the second game of back-to-backs. The game started the same way the Vancouver game started the night before, with the Jets taking the first two penalties of the game and killing off the first, but the Oilers getting on the board first, scoring on the second man-advantage. San Diego Padres Pro Shop . "I dont know that were close," said general manager Alex Anthopoulos. "I just think, right now, the acquisition cost just doesnt work for us right now. I dont know if I can quantify how far off or things like that that they might be but I would say we continue to have dialogue. San Diego Padres Store . Schenn scored the game-winning goal and added two assists to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday. Its well and truly game on for top spot after Hawthorns shock loss to Melbourne on Saturday. The Hawks -- who entered the round two games clear -- were beaten convincingly by the Demons and will need to win their remaining three matches in order to guarantee top spot.Sydney produced arguably the most dominant display of the weekend with their 67-point win over Port Adelaide, while fellow top four side Adelaide thumped the hapless Lions by 23 goals.North Melbourne continue to struggle against top eight opposition and only managed to boot four goals in their clash with the depleted, yet inspired Western Bulldogs. With injuries to Ben Brown and Jarrad Waite it appears unlikely the Kangaroos can challenge in September.West Coast were challenged early by Fremantle but dug deep to win the Perth derby and lock up their finals berth. The Coleman Medal is Josh Kennedys to lose after the Eagle key forward bagged seven goals at Domain Stadium and stretched his lead to seven with three games remaining.Richmond can breathe easy this week after bouncing back from last weeks shocker in Sydney. The Tigers fought gallantly on Friday night to upset the much more fancied Collingwood. The question is, can they back it up next week?Heroes:Paul Roos: He is the messiah - it is as simple as that. Since joining Melbourne as head coach in 2014, Roos has revitalised the list and turned a team of easy beats into heavyweight beaters themselves. His development of such a young and exciting group has also re-enthused its loyal supporters who now believe a finals berth could be a possibility in 2017. Saturdays win over Hawthorn snapped a 13-game losing streak against the competitions premier side and will long live in the memory of Roos, the players and all Melbourne supporters.?The Dees -- without Jesse Hogan -- were superb and ruthless when the game was in the balance in the final term. Its now over to you, Simon Goodwin.?The Bulldogs spirit: You have to admire the Western Bulldogs who have been absolutely decimated by injuries in 2016, yet still manage to compete hard and beat quality opponents. Their effort and endeavour on Saturday night was first rate as they outworked the lacklustre Kangaroos -- even with ten of their best 22 sitting on the sidelines. It seems every player that comes into the side is able to bring the same ferocity and intensity that is the hallmark of the Bulldogs game. Luke Beveridge continues to work wonders and there wouldnt be too many football fans that would begrudge his side a glorious September campaign.Alex Rance: Without any doubt whatsoever, the Richmond fullback is the AFLs best defender.dddddddddddd As he has been all year, Rance was resolute down back and coped tremendously well on Friday night against Collingwoods forward line. After a horror week which included an 88-point loss to Greater Western Sydney, the Tigers responded with terrific pressure and ferocity to deny the Magpies the football. Rance was superb with 26 disposals, eight marks and countless pressure acts. One wonders where Richmond would be at if the star backman was to leave.Villains:Hawthorns percentage: At the beginning of round 20 the Hawks appeared to be cruising towards the minor premiership. But, Saturday afternoon at the MCG proved that nothing is a certainty in sport as they fell to an inspired Demons outfit. The loss combined with an inferior percentage to the challenging sides means theres now a serious question mark over their top four hopes. The Hawks cannot afford to drop a game with Sydney, Adelaide, GWS and Geelong hot on their tails and all with a much healthier percentage. They have relied on their senior players to drag them over the line at critical moments this season, its time some of their younger players stand up.Port Adelaides midfield: If Robbie Gray only has seven disposals for a match, you know its going to spell disaster for Port Adelaide and thats exactly what happened on Saturday. It was a match that really highlighted the gulf between the top eight and the chasing pack as the Power copped an absolute smashing through the centre of the ground with the Swans winning the contested ball by a whopping 54. Sydneys thirst for the contest took the game away from the visiting side with Sam Naismith getting on top in the ruck over Jackson Trengove. The weight of forward 50 entries was too much to counter for the Power who will miss out on finals for the second consecutive year.Carltons defenders: For a side thats shown dramatic improvement under Brendon Bolton in 2016, the Blues will be filthy with their performance on Sunday. The Saints sliced through them with ease -- taking 20 marks inside 50 in the first half alone. Tim Membrey and Josh Bruce combined for nine goals in the rout as they stormed to a 71-point win to keep their slim finals hopes alive. The Blues lack of pressure was startling, especially after how well theyd competed against some top eight sides in the previous month. We know the Blues have lots of issues in the attacking half of the ground, they cant afford to have deficiencies in their team defence. ' ' '
